Abolition 200 commemorates in 2007 the bicentenary of the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire.

It is adopting the 2007 European Year of Equal Opportunities themes of Rights, Respect, Recognition and Representation with its core themes of Remembrance and Reconciliation.

2007 brings in to focus modern forms of social injustice, such as human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage and trade inequity. Many of the campaigns to tackle these issues resonate with the abolition of the slave trade movement.
